This was the tournament I was looking forward to the most, my "home lake", Logan Martin. I've caught a lot of fish here and I practiced enough to know the deal before the tournament. I got into the boat that morning with a guy that was honestly another level of fisherman above what I had seen. He was very fast and efficient and I didn't have the best chances to fish my style but it was interesting to see a true power-fishing style.

He had a decent day but fell just short of the cut to make it to day 2, and I didn't cash a check myself either. I did not have a decent day. I had at least 2 good fish come unbuttoned and just didn't fish cleanly at all. I had the bites I needed but just didn't land 'em and it stung a little, but those things happen. Well, except for the 8lb catfish I pulled out from under that pier. Nailed him.

The bass I did catch came on the Logan usuals: shaky head and a crankbait. The only good news was that I did well enough to land into the regional championships on Lake Seminole, another new lake for me. Considering it was my first season and I was literally fishing with Ugly Stiks, it wasn't too bad of an outcome I don't think.
