If I had to pick one fish I love catching the most it's got to be the Coosa spot. I've seen a number of people think they've hooked a big 'un only to realize it's a 2lb Coosa spot, which I believe is technically now called the Alabama Bass. These things are angry and they pull hard and they're really a beautiful species.

My buddy Tim managed to save some of the pics from the mid-2000's and that's what you see here. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of "the one." I caught one at mid-river one time when I was by myself and when I put it on a 22.5 inch Golden Rule, it completely covered it. This spot was about 24 inches long and thicc. It had to be 6lbs or better and it took me a couple minutes to get it to the boat with a light spinning set up. I actually had a pic of it on an old flip phone but I have no idea what I did with it.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to take a few more pics of these Coosa spots in the near future.
